This workshop introduces fundamental test theory concepts such as error of measurement, validity, reliability and quality. We focus on knowledge assessments and different types of tests. We also discuss interpretation of results and the consequences of using test results in the wrong context.

Test Design

This training session is focused on the different steps that precedes item writing. You will learn the functionality of a syllabus and a test blue print when creating tests. An overview of test theory and quality aspects are also given.

Item Writing

Test guidelines are used when writing items in a test. This workshop teaches the participants how to write and review items. Examples of 'good' and 'bad' items are presented. You will also learn how to use several different computer based item types.

Validation

This workshop introduce the concepts of item and test analysis. Validity, reliability, p-value and D-index are presented. You will learn how to analyze a test and its items as well as different methods of setting cut-off scores.
